What is your role?

I am responsible for our Residential Development and Housing Association recruitment team working with our clients and candidates across the North of England. We provide executive search, permanent and interim services, as well as career advice, CV assistance and lots more. I enjoy meeting people where possible and make a concerted effort to do so as much as I can. I am keen to drive forward our team in this area as well as continuing to offer the service that I expect.


Left school at 15 after completing my GCSE’s. It wasn’t that I was intelligent and did them early, I was born in August so was a young school leaver.

First Job

Office Junior for Swinton Insurance in Sale. I got the job after applying to an advert in my local paper, my salary was £6,000!

Shortest Job

I have been very fortunate in my career to have a good amount of stability. Although it wasn’t a job I did spend 3 months in college after I left school, it just wasn’t for me. I have been working since then.

What was the secret to your success?

I don’t think there is any secret to anyone’s success. The harder and smarter you work the more successful you tend to be. I have always tried to treat people the same, and in a way that I would want to be treated

What piece of advice would you give to someone starting out in the industry?

The residential new build sector is a diverse and exciting industry full of challenges and opportunities. It can provide you with personal development, reward and pride in delivering much needed housing.

What is the best advice you have received?

“Don’t sweat the small stuff and don’t worry about things you cannot influence”. A client told me this a good few years ago, I do have to keep reminding myself of it though!
