My client, an award winning international commercial law firm, are looking for a Solicitor to join their Clinical Negligence department at their offices in Manchester.

The role

My client is an outstanding Top 40 law practice, attracting top calibre employees and clients alike. This opportunity will be working within its Clinical Negligence department in Manchester. The team are ranked in the Legal 500 and have expertise in high value birth and neurological claims, paraplegia, spinal injury, cerebral palsy and amputations.

As a Clinical Negligence Solicitor, will manage a full mixed caseload of litigated Clinical-Negligence files through to conclusion. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting reports
  • Interviewing witnesses
  • Drafting witness statements
  • Quantifying claims
  • Instructing counsel
  • Hold conferences with Counsel
  • Instructing experts
  • Attend Court for Case Management Conferences and Application Hearings
  • Negotiate settlements
  • Prepare for and attend trial
  • Cover secondments at Client’s offices in Leeds/London if required
  • Draft articles
  • Give client training and presentations
  • Provide assistance in the running of colleagues’ files where necessary

The candidate

You will be a Solicitor qualified to practice in England and Wales with up to around four years’ PQE. You will have a proven track record working as a Solicitor and dealing with a case load of Clinical Negligence matters. This is a full time permanent position.
