A large, respected firm who offer strategic guidance spanning the full legal spectrum, from non-contentious advisory and transactional work, to all forms of commercial litigation.

They are a trusted adviser to a wide portfolio of clients across a wide range of specialist sectors.

This role involves assisting with a varied caseload within the Commercial Litigation team from inception to conclusion.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 to 17:30

Duties will include:

  • Client liaison in person, in writing and over the telephone
  • Communicate with clients, litigants in person, solicitors, counsel, courts and all other interested parties
  • Drafting and proofing documents
  • Instructing Counsel and experts
  • Preparation of reports to clients
  • Negotiation
  • Business development including preparation of articles and insights
  • Undertake appropriate additional tasks provided by the other members of the team
  • May be asked to go on secondment to support our client relationships

Candidate Requirements

  • A real interest in and enthusiasm for commercial litigation
  • Able to work as a team player assisting across the team as a whole including as needed in Manchester as well as able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrates an understanding of clients’ needs/expectations to meet client protocols/agreed service levels
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills including ability to plan and prioritise work appropriately so that deadlines are met
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Adheres to guidelines, procedures and ethics
