My Client is a leading and award-winning international commercial law firm with offices globally.  They are looking to add to their Employment offering a Solicitor/Senior Associate or Legal Executive to be based in their Liverpool Office.  The Firm delivers advice and strategic guidance spanning the full legal spectrum, from non-contentious advisory and transactional work, to all forms of commercial litigation.

Clients of the Firm include those in the field of transport and logistics and international trade, through to retail, insurance, marine, health, education, manufacturing, public sector and banking and financial services.

Associate/ Senior Associate / Legal Executive

This is a unique opportunity to work with one of the leading players in the commercial employment arena.  There will be plenty of Client contact on offer supported by the rest of the Team. The successful Candidate will work alongside a senior member of the Team affording support and personal development.

Duties include:

  • Providing legal advice to a broad range of clients, from company owners and managers, HR professionals and in-house lawyers, to public and private sector organisations, as well as senior employees and executives, on a range of employment matters.
  • Managing a good mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
  • Undertake all aspects of employment law including drafting various employment documents, maternity and paternity rights, discrimination, whistleblowing, employee relations issues, disciplinary matters and grievances, mediation, dismissals, redundancy, TUPE and employment tribunal claims.
  • Transactional support.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Contribute to business development.

Candidate Requirements

  • Law degree (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience in supporting an employment commercial team.
  • The ability and experience of managing a caseload providing sound commercial advice.
  • Transactional support experience.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Adheres to guidelines and procedures.
  • An understanding of clients’ needs and expectations.
  • Flexibility in approach and a willingness to work outside normal office hours, if required.
