The Opportunity

Our client is a well-respected firm of Chartered Surveyors & Property Agents who due to continued growth, is looking to appoint an experienced team secretary to work within their Commercial Property Agency team.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide professional support to a well-established and busy department, providing administration support to their Commercial Agency Surveyors with instructions throughout the North West, and beyond.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, numerate and interpersonal, joining a hard-working team who place a strong emphasis on providing outstanding service, tailored to a variety of clients.


  • Responding to telephone and email enquiries - taking messages accurately and passing to the correct person.

  • Diary management.

  • Word processing and collating correspondence and other documents from audio / digital dictation, amending and formatting documents quickly and accurately.

  • Production of reports including tables with photos, letters, memoranda, file notes etc.

  • Working as part of a team to ensure that effective and continual secretarial service is provided to surveyors.

  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards and company policies.

  • General administrative duties and where required, assisting elsewhere within the business providing much variation to the role and responsibilities.


  • The ability to handle all matters professionally and confidentially.

  • Excellent written, numerical and communications skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.

  • Speed, accuracy and an eye for detail.

  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • The ability to work on their own initiative and to tight deadlines

  • Excellent IT skills, including an intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Office packages, experience of document management systems and e-filing.

  • Experience of typing documents

  • Experience of mailshots

  • Previous experience within a surveying practice

  • Be positive with a ‘can-do’ attitude


  • Salary between £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience

  • 25 Days holiday (pro-rata if not full time)

  • Excellent potential of career progression with a North West market leader 

  • Full time (part-time considered)
