Opportunities are already quickly arising in 2018 for Planners looking to progress their careers. Our client, based in Bristol city centre, have an exciting opportunity for a Town Planner to join an established team.
The Planner will join a busy planning team that is part of one of the most recognisable property consultancies in the UK. The typical workload is both varied and challenging with clients including major house builders, developers, retailers and local authorities tackling residential, commercial and mixed-use developments across the region. As a Planner you will become integral to assisting on projects that shall vary in size and complexity, managing some smaller developments independently whilst supporting senior members of the team on large-scale work.
The ideal Planner will have gained experience within the public or private sectors and will be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the planning system. APC support is provided, if required, but chartered Planners are also encouraged to apply with scope for a Senior Planner to also join this growing team. Excellent communication skills are required as you shall be liaising internally with colleagues, communicating directly with clients and engaging with Planning Officers. Previous sector experience is not specific but residential and commercial experience will prove beneficial.
As a Planner your typical responsibilities can include the preparation, submission and monitoring of planning applications, the drafting of supporting documentation, communicating with clients and delivering advice when necessary and advising colleagues across other disciplines regarding planning matters.
