The Liverpool Litigation team is experienced in handling all kinds of disputes across a range of disciplines including commercial disputes, specialty insurance and marine.
They act on behalf of large corporates, SMEs, private individuals, public bodies, insurers, professional practices and regulatory bodies.
Members of the team have dealt with a number of complex, high profile and sensitive issues with far reaching implications, and have litigated cases in which landmark decisions have been achieved.
They have helped to resolve claims worth over £100m by means of mediation during the last year.
To support partners and other case handlers with their caseloads of mixed litigation work, including commercial disputes, debt recovery, specialty insurance and marine.
This is a chance to join a well-established team handling a wide variety of work working with all levels of fee earner and independently where appropriate.
Main duties and responsibilities
Assist case handlers with their caseloads involving more complex and higher value claims
Manage own caseload of repeat instructions from key client as appropriate
Manage own caseload of debt recovery including statutory demands/winding up petitions
Dealing with enforcement of judgments
Draft and perform legal research, investigations, etc
Attend conferences, court and client meetings
Communicate with clients, counsel and other parties
Involvement in business development and profile-raising initiatives as well as alignment to relevant segment/sector groups
Complete client and internal MI procedures
Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures and KIPS are adhered to
The person specification:-
Experience of file management
Experience of debt recovery
Knowledge of CPR procedures and have proven technical ability and record of achievement
Knowledge of Lexcel procedure
