About the Role
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Portfolio Surveyor to join a highly successful and privately owned property development and investment business with a substantial UK commercial portfolio in excess of 7 million sq ft.
The portfolio is diverse and includes office, retail, leisure and industrial assets across a range of prime locations. This is a client-side position offering the opportunity to take ownership of a varied commercial portfolio within a collaborative and well-established property team.
This role would suit an experienced commercial property professional who enjoys building strong occupier relationships, managing complex property matters and working within a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.
The Role
Working closely with the wider Portfolio Management team and other internal departments, responsibilities will include:
- Managing all professional property matters across an allocated commercial portfolio
- Handling lease renewals, rent reviews, lease assignments, sublettings and lease breaks
- Acting as the principal point of contact for occupiers and maintaining excellent client relationships
- Undertaking regular property inspections and liaising with Building Surveying and Facilities Management teams
- Assisting with service charge management, including budget setting and annual reconciliations
- Working alongside the rating team on business rates matters
- Providing support and guidance to Building Managers
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and statutory requirements
About You
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
- Previous experience within commercial property management
- Strong knowledge of landlord & tenant matters
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage relationships effectively with occupiers and stakeholders
- MRICS qualification preferred, although this is not essential for candidates with the right level of experience
- Salary & Benefits c. £65,000 salary (depending on experience)
