We are seeking a project manager to join a growing team, to play a key role in development of our clients Irish business, working with major power infrastructure companies transitioning to a low carbon energy future. 

Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include leading significant infrastructure delivery programmes aligned with our client’s business strategy to deliver a broad range of projects in support of the 2030 Climate Action Plan.  This will involve leading the development of the overall approach for the programme, its major timeframes and the definition of major deliverables to address and meet the desired goals and outcomes within large projects, defining and maintaining realistic project plans, monitoring progress against agreed quality and performance criteria ensuring programmes of work are correctly allocated and resourced. This will include ensuring that appropriate project controls are in place within the team having regard to budgets, schedule, quality, risk and activity monitoring. This will include the setup of some of these structures/processes.

You will lead, motivate and inspire project team members to ensure a sense of team and a clear understanding of goals and objectives. You will have an understanding of the wider business strategy and be able to communicate this to project team members.

You will lead in the identification and management of stakeholders, working collaboratively with stakeholders internal and external to the business.

You will have proven experience in decision making which leads to the successful delivery of large infrastructure projects;

You will be responsible for ensuring that Risks and Issues are managed and escalated appropriately.

You will have an understanding of key project controls and will be responsible for preparing and maintaining project documentation, including Risk Register, Issue Register, Daily Log, Change Control procedures. You will be responsible for administering Programme Governance.

Essential Requirements

Project Manager with over 7 years’ experience delivering infrastructure projects in the power sector. You may not yet be chartered, but you will be working towards it.

Relevant degree with a demonstrated technical proficiency;

Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop, communicate and “sell” programme objectives;

High degree of political sensitivity, astuteness and the ability to work across all levels of our organisation to achieve programme success and overcome potential obstacles;

Knowledge of the industry, environment and context, experience working within a similar regulated utility environment and/or experience introducing new concepts, processes and ways of doing things would be beneficial;

Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience;

Commercial awareness with the ability to make decisions and recommendations in all aspects of project implementation; and

Full, clean drivers licence.
