We are looking for a Building Surveyor ideally with an MRICS qualification, or approaching the APC, to carry out inspections of commercial and residential property and sign off reports.  The right person will have the support of the firm to develop a team around them, with increasing responsibility and success rewarded by an improved package and the opportunity to share in the management and growth of the wider business.   You will be responsible for assessing defects in accordance with Section 11 of The Landlord and Tenant Act, while you will also liaise with solicitors, expert witnesses, and surveyors.

Along with utilising your surveying skills, you will work closely with a team of professionals and will adopt a similar, methodical approach. However, a sense of humour is also important. You will be able to work on your own initiative and be a highly effective communicator, both verbally and in your written work.   My client has been extremely successful in representing tenants and landlords, a such, experience of working for a local authority or housing association would be advantageous.   Essential requirements:

Minimum of three years’ experience A background within the social-housing arena Experience of preparing witness statements Highly proficient in housing disrepair Expert in defect analysis
