About the Role
Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Director or Associate Director to join our clients’ dynamic Valuation & Advisory team, with a primary focus on the Self-Storage Sector.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a wide range of valuation assignments, develop expertise in a growing asset class, and advance your career within a leading global real estate firm.
The role involves servicing clients across Europe in the delivery of loan security and accounts valuations, feasibility studies, pricing support and consulting work for a range of external clients and internal stakeholders (including debt and corporate finance teams).
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Take on projects with a good level of individual responsibility, asking questions where necessary but being able to present draft numbers/report ready for discussion with colleagues and deliver within agreed deadlines.
- Manage own timescales/workload and communicate these to colleagues, managers and stakeholders as appropriate.
- Proactively seek further assignments and/or contribute to other projects when capacity permits.
- Demonstrate initiative starting with basic admin tasks and aiming to demonstrate this at higher levels.
- Examples at a basic level: e.g. checking LOE matches fee quote, checking main report reflects LOE and bases of value etc. Making sure comps have been analysed and included in our deal database.
- Higher levels: checking how our valuation assumptions compare with other, similar valuations we have done, deals we are aware of, high level checks such as cost v revenue, sentiment vs other sectors etc. i.e. do the key metrics of this valuation sound right in the wider context?
- Team player with demonstrable commitment to helping achieve the team’s goals in terms of fees, professional standards and client service.
- Delivering market insight reports to clients
- Maintaining a high standard of client service and delivery
- Assisting in generating new business by preparing fee quotes, pitches and/or market reports.
- Build network both internally and externally, ensuring the team continues to be engaged both with other sector teams and clients we may only work with intermittently. Note: making contacts at junior levels is also beneficial.
- Project manage deliverables where the inputs from teams in other sectors or geographies are required.
Key Skills Required:
- MRICS qualification
- Practical understanding of commercial property and valuations (ideally with an understanding of discounted cashflows but not essential).
- Financial modelling skills and experience with Microsoft Excel are essential, knowledge of Argus Enterprise desirable.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook essential. Strong data manipulation skills in Excel are essential.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills and comfortable with report writing
- Ability to plan and deliver projects within agreed timeframes
- A desire and urgency to deliver high quality reports and client service
