About the Role

Build a New Team Inside an Established Practice

We’re retained by a long-standing, highly respected multi-disciplinary consultancy that is setting up a new Project Management team. This is a rare chance to found and lead the function with full autonomy—while enjoying the support, brand, and infrastructure of experienced partners.

If you’ve run your own consultancy, or feel constrained by your current firm, this is your platform to shape something your way.

The Opportunity

Create & grow a high-performing PM team within an established, profitable business.

Own the strategy for project management—service design, delivery standards, hiring, and P&L.

Lead client relationships across sectors aligned to the firm’s core markets, including:

  • Commercial
  • Retail
  • Residential
  • Hotel & Leisure

Collaborate with experienced partners across Quantity Surveying and Building Consultancy to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Why This Stands Out

  • Autonomy with backing: Freedom to build, with senior partner support and a stable client base.
  • Influence: Seat at the senior leadership table; shape direction and culture.
  • Growth mandate: This is a strategic growth role—not a replacement—created to elevate the PM offering.
  • Brand & pipeline: Step into a business with an excellent reputation and long-standing private/public sector clients.

What You’ll Bring

  • A proven project leadership track record (consultancy or client-side), delivering complex schemes.
  • Team-building credentials: hiring, coaching, and developing talent; setting processes and standards.
  • Business development network: well-connected, confident winning and expanding work.
  • Cross-sector agility—particularly commercial, hotel & leisure, and high-end residential.
  • Commercial acumen & client presence with a collaborative, people-first style.
  • Ideally chartered (RICS, MAPM, MCIOB) or equivalent experience.

The Package

  • c. £100,000 – £150,000 base, depending on experience
  • Long-term leadership trajectory with scope to shape the division
