Director – Property Consultancy (Affordable Housing)
Meet Our Recruiter
About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to take a leading role within a well-established, national property consultancy, with a clear mandate to shape, grow, and lead a specialist affordable housing advisory team from London.
You will join a highly respected, multidisciplinary consultancy with an existing national footprint, working alongside an established Property Consultancy team while taking ownership of expanding the housing advisory offer in London and the wider South East.
This is a strategic hire, suited to an individual who enjoys building teams, developing client relationships, and influencing service delivery at a senior level.
The focus of the role is firmly within strategic asset management and advisory, supporting Registered Providers and housing organisations with complex portfolios. You will provide insight across asset strategy, compliance, investment planning, and long-term portfolio performance, while positioning the business as a trusted advisor in the sector.
Crucially, we are seeking someone with a proven consultancy background.
This experience is essential, as the role requires a blend of technical delivery, commercial awareness, and client-facing leadership.
You will be given the autonomy, support, and platform to grow a team around you, with genuine scope to progress into Director or Partner level if not already operating at that level.
The role would suit an individual who combines technical depth with a strategic mindset, and who is motivated by the opportunity to build something meaningful within a supportive national structure.
Your experience is likely to include a strong track record in affordable housing asset management or consultancy, with exposure to large-scale stock condition programmes and strategic planning. A deep understanding of the challenges facing the sector is important, including compliance, building safety, ESG, net zero, and the evolving regulatory landscape.
You will be comfortable advising at a senior level, making commercially sound decisions, and producing clear, insightful recommendations for clients. Just as importantly, you will bring the leadership qualities required to develop a team and drive business growth.
Professional qualifications such as MRICS, CIOB, or CIH are desirable, but your consultancy experience and impact in the market will carry the most weight.
This is an opportunity to step into a role with real influence, where you can shape both a service line and your own long-term career trajectory within a respected and growing consultancy.
