About the Role

This is a significant senior leadership appointment, offering the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of the service line, build upon an established platform and develop a market-leading Quantity Surveying business.

Initially focused on London, the successful individual will have the autonomy, resources and senior-level support to expand the team, strengthen key client relationships and establish a broader national presence.

We are looking for an established industry leader with the commercial credibility, market reputation and ambition to build a substantial business.

The Opportunity

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take responsibility for developing and executing a clear growth strategy for Quantity Surveying, building on existing capability while identifying new opportunities across the UK.

This is a highly visible, market-facing appointment requiring a combination of strategic leadership, business development expertise and commercial acumen.

You will work closely with colleagues across complementary disciplines, leveraging established client relationships and the wider consultancy's capabilities to secure significant new instructions and drive sustainable growth.

Importantly, this is not a role focused solely on managing an existing team. It offers the opportunity to shape, develop and lead a national service line, with genuine influence over its direction, structure and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the national growth strategy for Quantity Surveying, initially focusing on London.
  • Lead business development activity, securing significant new commissions and establishing long-term client relationships.
  • Build upon the existing team, recruiting, mentoring and developing high-calibre Quantity Surveying professionals.
  • Identify new markets, sectors and opportunities for service line expansion.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders across the business to develop multidisciplinary client opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for commercial performance, business planning and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Represent the consultancy at senior industry and client level, strengthening its reputation and market position.

About You

We are interested in speaking with established Directors, Partners and senior Cost Management leaders who can demonstrate:

  • A successful track record within a leading UK property or construction consultancy.
  • Proven ability to win significant new business, supported by an established network of senior client relationships.
  • A strong reputation and market presence within London's Quantity Surveying and Cost Management sector.
  • Experience establishing, leading or substantially growing successful Quantity Surveying teams.
  • Strategic leadership capability, combined with strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • The ability to identify opportunities across complementary property and construction sectors.
  • Credibility and confidence operating at Board, Partner and senior client level.
  • An entrepreneurial, collaborative approach and the ambition to develop a nationally recognised service offering.

MRICS qualification is essential.

Above all, the successful individual will be a proven business developer and respected industry leader, capable of translating established relationships and market knowledge into meaningful, sustainable growth.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

For an accomplished Quantity Surveying leader seeking greater autonomy, influence and the opportunity to shape a business, this appointment offers a compelling proposition.

You will benefit from:

  • A newly created national leadership position with genuine strategic influence.
  • An established international consultancy platform, recognised brand and existing client relationships.
  • The opportunity to develop and expand an established Quantity Surveying offering rather than start entirely from scratch.
  • Significant autonomy to shape the team, service offering and growth strategy.
  • Access to complementary disciplines and opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Direct engagement with senior leadership and support for long-term investment and growth.
  • A highly competitive remuneration package, reflecting the seniority and commercial importance of the appointment.

This is an opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveying leader to take ownership of a national growth strategy, build a high-performing business and play a defining role in the future of an established international consultancy.
