About the Role

Shape the next generation of digital infrastructure.

We’re seeking a senior construction leader to head up data centre programmes for blue-chip clients. You’ll set the strategy, lead delivery, and grow a high-performing team tackling hyperscale new builds, major expansions and live-environment upgrades—powering AI, cloud and high-density compute at scale.

Why this role?

  • Lead a flagship sector: Own the data centre portfolio for a market-leading consultancy, with direct impact on client outcomes and business growth.
  • Career-defining projects: Complex, fast-paced programmes with substantial capex, critical MEP, and stringent performance/SLA requirements.
  • Real progression & autonomy: Clear route to broader regional or sector leadership, backed by first-class digital tools and PMO support.

What you’ll lead

  • Full lifecycle leadership from strategy, feasibility and site selection through design management, procurement, construction and commissioning.
  • Power-led decision making (grid, on-site generation, renewables/PPAs, backup resilience) and sustainability pathways (embodied/operational carbon, water, circularity).
  • Programme governance: set up and run robust controls (schedule, risk, cost, change), with transparent reporting and data-driven insights.
  • Commercial and supply chain strategy: packaging, market engagement, contract formation (NEC/JCT/FIDIC), and performance management.
  • Stakeholder leadership across client, operators, JV partners, utilities, and mission-critical vendors—protecting live operations and SLAs.
  • Team building: recruit, coach and line-manage a growing team (SPM/AD level), fostering a high-performance, solutions-focused culture.

What you’ll bring

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline (Project Management, QS, CM, Civils/MEP).
  • Proven track record delivering data centre projects (consultancy, client/developer or Tier-1), ideally including hyperscale or large colocation.
  • Deep understanding of power, cooling, scalability, fit-out phasing and commissioning in mission-critical environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen: procurement strategy, cost planning, contracts, and change management on complex, multi-package programmes.
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management; comfortable making clear decisions at pace with incomplete information.
  • Digital fluency across controls, reporting and common data environments.

The offer

  • £90,000–£120,000 + benefits (DOE)
  • High-impact leadership role within a nationally recognised data centre team.
  • Portfolio spanning new builds, expansion, and modernisation across the UK and Europe.
