My Current Audiobook Obsessions
"Some audiobooks are so good, I end up buying the actual book just so I can highlight it."
I listen on walks, during long drives — even while ironing. Here are a few recent listens that have inspired, challenged, and energised me.
My Current Audiobook Obsessions
In my last newsletter, I shared some of my top summer reads. But here’s the thing — I’m just as hooked on audiobooks as I am on physical books.
I listen to them everywhere: on walks, during long car journeys, even while ironing. In fact, some have been so good (or packed with so much insight) that I’ve ended up buying the printed version as well, just so I can highlight and scribble in the margins.
Recently, Stolen Focus by Johann Hari completely shifted my perspective — particularly as a parent trying to navigate the minefield of kids, screens, and technology. It’s part wake-up call, part practical guide, and well worth the listen.
Another favourite is It’s Never Too Late & You’re Never Too Old by Vic Johnson. It’s short but powerful, full of stories about people who achieved remarkable success later in life. It’s inspiring, and a brilliant reminder that ambition doesn’t have an expiry date.
On a more personal health and wellbeing note, A Better Second Half by Liz Earle has been both uplifting and practical, packed with advice for living with energy and purpose as the years roll on.
And of course, there’s a classic I always come back to — Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within. I love the energy, the motivation, and the practical steps to get moving. It’s like a shot of espresso for your mindset.
I’d love to hear your recommendations — what’s been in your ears lately?
