Director of Student Accomoodation Investment

The Opportunity

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially astute Director to join a leading real estate advisory platform, specialising in student accommodation investment across the UK and Europe.

This is a senior leadership role suited to an individual with a strong track record in originating and executing complex transactions, alongside the credibility and network to operate at the top end of the market. You will play a pivotal role in driving growth within a highly active and evolving sector.

The Role

You will take the lead in sourcing, structuring, and delivering student accommodation investment transactions, advising institutional investors, developers, and operators. Alongside this, you will help shape strategy, build client relationships, and contribute to the continued expansion of a well-established alternatives platform.

Key Responsibilities

Lead acquisitions, disposals, and complex investment transactions Originate new business opportunities and develop long-term client relationships Oversee financial modelling, investment appraisals, and underwriting assumptions Provide strategic advisory across market trends, funding structures, and portfolio strategy Manage full due diligence processes across financial, legal, and technical aspects Monitor market dynamics including supply/demand, planning policy, and investor sentiment Mentor and lead junior team members, ensuring high-quality delivery Collaborate across capital markets, planning, valuation, and development teams Ensure all work aligns with ESG, regulatory, and risk requirements

About You 

8+ years’ experience within real estate investment, ideally within student accommodation or alternative residential sectors Proven track record of originating and closing investment deals Strong understanding of UK and European student housing markets Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability Established network across investors, operators, and developers Confident communicator with strong negotiation and client-facing skills Degree qualified (Real Estate, Finance, Economics or similar); MRICS, CFA or equivalent desirable Demonstrable leadership experience with the ability to mentor and inspire teams
