About the Role

Learning & Development Manager – Professional Services

CK3615496

Manchester & Liverpool | Hybrid Working

Are you an experienced Learning & Development professional who enjoys shaping strategy but is equally happy rolling up your sleeves to make things happen?

We're partnering with a highly regarded, employee-owned professional services business to appoint a Learning & Development Manager who will play a pivotal role in developing future talent, enhancing leadership capability, and embedding a culture of continuous learning across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and enjoys working closely with people at every level of the business.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Learning & Development Director, you'll lead a small, dedicated Learning & Development team while working closely with senior leaders across the business to develop and deliver an ambitious learning strategy.

This role offers genuine variety. You'll influence the long-term learning agenda whilst remaining actively involved in designing, delivering and evaluating high-quality learning programmes that make a measurable impact.

A key focus of the role will be the design and delivery of the organisation's CMI leadership programmes from Level 3 through to Level 7, helping to develop future leaders and senior managers across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the Learning & Development strategy in line with business objectives.
  • Lead, coach and develop a small, high-performing Learning & Development team.
  • Design and deliver engaging learning programmes across leadership, management, technical and professional development.
  • Lead the delivery of CMI-accredited programmes (Level 3–Level 7) for aspiring and senior leaders.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to identify capability gaps and create learning solutions that support business growth.
  • Champion innovative learning methods, digital platforms and blended learning approaches.
  • Measure learning effectiveness using data and insights to continually improve outcomes.
  • Manage learning budgets, external providers and Apprenticeship Levy funding.
  • Ensure compliance, governance and mandatory learning requirements are effectively managed.

About You

You'll be an experienced Learning & Development professional who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with practical delivery.

We're looking for someone who can confidently operate at senior leadership level but is equally comfortable facilitating workshops, designing programmes and supporting their team day-to-day.

You'll ideally bring:

  • CIPD Level 5 or above (Chartered membership desirable).
  • Experience managing and developing a Learning & Development team.
  • A proven track record of designing and delivering leadership and management development programmes.
  • Experience delivering or overseeing CMI qualifications (Level 3–Level 7).
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • A strategic mindset with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
  • Experience using learning technologies and modern learning methodologies.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join an organisation where people genuinely come first.

As an Employee-Owned Trust (EOT), collaboration, shared success and investing in people are at the heart of the business. You'll be joining a culture where Learning & Development is viewed as a strategic function, with the opportunity to influence leadership capability, shape future talent and make a lasting impact across the organisation.

If you're looking for a role where you can combine strategic influence with hands-on delivery—and where your work will genuinely help people and the business thrive—we'd love to hear from you.
