We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor with commercial experience to join a fantastic team. You will have the opportunity to progress to associate within a relatively short period of time and work with some fabulous, high profile clients. The role involves a wide range of responsibilities related to building consultancy and advisory services. The role is client-focused and requires collaboration with various internal teams to provide holistic and commercial advice to clients. Here's a breakdown of the key responsibilities and qualifications for the role:

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Specifications and Contract Administration: You will be responsible for preparing specifications for repair and refurbishment contracts and administering these contracts to ensure the work is carried out as planned.
  • Inspections and Reporting: You'll conduct inspections of buildings, assess their condition, and prepare comprehensive reports outlining your findings and recommendations.
  • Dilapidations and Exit Strategies: You'll prepare and negotiate schedules of dilapidations and develop exit strategies for clients.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance: You'll create and implement plans for the regular maintenance of buildings to prevent potential issues and ensure longevity.
  • Reinstatement Cost Assessments: You'll assess the cost of reinstating properties in the event of damage or destruction and provide accurate assessments.
  • Portfolio Coordination: Assist in coordinating instructions related to property portfolios and carry out additional duties as required.
  • Client Service: Establish sustainable relationships with both internal and external clients, providing excellent and professional client service.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required for this role.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Teamwork and Initiative: Ability to work effectively both within a team and independently, taking initiative as needed.
  • Enthusiasm and Proactivity: You should be enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated in your approach to tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Time Management and Organization: Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
  • Professionalism: Well-presented with strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Qualifications: MRICS ideally, with proven building surveying experience, preferably in a commercial consultancy.
  • Technical Skills: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with AutoCAD is an advantage.
  • Driving License: A valid driving license is required for this role.
