About the Role
A leading national, multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy is seeking to appoint a senior Mechanical Engineer at Associate or Associate Director level within its Manchester office.
This is a strategic growth hire, offering genuine leadership responsibility, strong project exposure and a clear pathway toward future progression.
The Opportunity
You will play a key role in delivering and overseeing mechanical building services design across a diverse and technically interesting portfolio, while acting as a senior client-facing representative of the business.
Sectors include:
- Defence
- Education (schools)
- Leisure
- Hotels
- Commercial
- Manufacturing
The role offers involvement from concept through to completion, working closely with in-house disciplines across a well-established national network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and delivery of complex building services projects
- Act as a primary client contact, building and maintaining long-term relationships
- Support business development activity and contribute to fee growth
- Provide technical leadership and oversight to engineers within the team
- Ensure quality, compliance and best practice across all projects
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate:
- Significant UK consultancy experience within building services
- Strong client-facing capability and commercial awareness
- Proven delivery across multiple sectors, including defence and education
- Technical excellence in mechanical building services design
- Experience managing projects and mentoring junior engineers
- Ambition to operate at a senior leadership level
Chartered status (or working towards) would be advantageous.
