About the Role

We are working on a confidential basis with a highly respected, multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy to appoint an experienced Clerk of Works with a strong MEP skill set to join their Manchester team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established consultancy delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education and public sector schemes.

The Role

The successful candidate will act as the eyes and ears on site, ensuring mechanical and electrical installations are delivered in accordance with specifications, regulations, and best practice standards.

You will:

  • Undertake regular site inspections focusing on MEP installations
  • Monitor quality of workmanship and compliance with drawings/specifications
  • Produce detailed inspection reports and photographic records
  • Identify defects and ensure remedial works are implemented
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with contractors, consultants and clients
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and health & safety standards
  • Support the wider project and cost management teams

About You

We are seeking a technically strong individual with:

  • Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, Building Services Inspector or MEP Quality Inspector
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience inspecting HVAC, electrical distribution, fire alarms, BMS and associated services
  • Solid understanding of building regulations and compliance standards
  • The confidence to challenge contractors where required
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Professional membership (ICWCI or similar) desirable but not essential

A background in building services engineering, MEP contracting, or building services consultancy would be highly advantageous.
