About the Role

Job Description

Kingsley is partnered with a leading Real Estate Advisory firm, that is looking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Rating Director/Partner to lead and help grow their Regional & National Rating team.

  • The successful candidate shall join the Rating Department’s leadership team, collectively responsible for creating and delivering a three-year business plan.
  • To lead the Northwest Rating team dealing with rating valuation across the North of England.
  • Contribute to the creation, implementation and delivery of a three-year Rating business plan.

Core Responsibilities, include:

Leadership

  • In conjunction with the National Head of Rating, provide direction, guidance and leadership to the Regional Rating team.
  • Grow the team both by revenue and headcount and enhance margins
  • Manage those under direct line management; ensuring direct reports are meeting their objectives.
  • Develop relationships and liaise with internal teams.
  • Participate in non-fee generating activities which support business development.

Profit & Finance

  • Contribute to meeting Rating’s fee target through winning and delivering revenue.
  • Ensuring the Manchester Rating team’s finance targets are delivered.
  • Accurate fee forecasting, managing potential fee pipeline and invoicing.

Clients & Marketing

  • Account Manager for key national and local clients.
  • Business development within the North of England.
  • Undertaking national business development for specific allocated targets.
  • Develop and maintain key client relationships to drive a good pipeline of future instructions.
  • Establish and maintain own and team profile internally and externally through effective PR.

Operations and Risk

  • Manage risk in accordance with the firms procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with agreed processes across the Manchester team.

Qualifications

  • Member of the RICS
  • Member of external professional body (optional)

Knowledge and Experience

  • Leadership and line management experience
  • Strong track record of business development and client relationship management
  • Extensive professional experience of working in business rates
  • Professional experience of providing technical rating advice across varied sectors
  • Professional experience of taking Valuation Tribunal and ideally Upper Tribunal cases
  • Professional experience of advising major ‘blue chip’ clients and demonstrable ability to lead large complex client instructions
  • High level business and report writing skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • High level client management and verbal communication skills
  • Good external professional network; to support the growth of the Rating team
  • In-depth knowledge of Rating legislation and case law
