About the Role

We are working on a confidential basis with a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy to explore the creation of a Vertical Transportation (VT) team within their Manchester office.

This is not a replacement hire. This is a strategic growth move.

The Opportunity

Our client has a strong regional presence and national platform across:

  • Commercial & mixed-use developments
  • Residential (high-rise & BTR)
  • Healthcare
  • Education
  • Large-scale regeneration schemes

There is clear demand from existing clients for in-house lift and escalator consultancy expertise, and leadership is committed to investing in this capability.

Rather than a single hire to “fill a gap,” this is an opportunity to:

  • Establish and shape a dedicated VT service line
  • Work closely with Project Management, Cost Management and Building Surveying teams
  • Leverage an established client base and secured pipeline
  • Influence long-term regional growth strategy

Who This Could Suit

We are keen to speak with:

  • A Senior / Associate / Director-level VT Consultant
  • An existing small VT team within a larger consultancy
  • Or an independent vertical transportation specialist practice considering the benefits of a larger platform

You will likely bring:

  • Strong technical expertise in lift and escalator design, specification and modernisation
  • Experience advising across new build and refurbishment schemes
  • Commercial awareness and the ambition to grow a regional offering
  • Established client relationships within developers, contractors or asset owners

What’s On Offer

  • Autonomy to shape your own service line
  • National brand backing and cross-selling opportunities
  • Investment commitment from senior leadership
  • Clear pathway to senior regional leadership

All conversations will be handled in strict confidence.

If you are open to a discreet discussion about building something meaningful in Manchester, I would welcome a confidential conversation.
