The Position & Team

Our client is looking to appoint a Development Surveyor to join their North-West Development team across a number of projects from inception to completion with key responsibilities of the role being:

  • Evaluate development sites, conduct research and present the information to allow informed decisions to be made
  • Financial appraisal of opportunities, including scenario modelling and provide clearly written reports and analysis of develop opportunities, and new site acquisitions
  • Site/land acquisition, including relevant legal work associated
  • Bid for new opportunities through processes such as OJEU and other similar public procurement methods
  • Create places for new communities – including concept design, master planning, place making and of newly acquired site
  • Responsible for successful design and delivery of schemes (commercial/retail/leisure/mixed use) working with the PM team from concept through the RIBA stages from concept to completion and handover
  • Manage ‘costs vs. return’ and ensure the correct balance throughout the project
  • Work within a wider internal client team for schemes being delivered working with sales, marketing, financ
  • Collate reports for Management team and to the Board

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • 2:1 degree, ideally property related
  • Proven experience within a similar role
  • A keen interest in property and property development
  • High level of numeracy and literacy with the ability to evaluate and communicate your findings
  • High level of IT literacy
  • Proactive and confident
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work within a team and your own initiative
  • Able to handle a number of tasks simultaneously
  • Commercially awareness with the ability to identify opportunities
  • Able to excel in a team environment and be prepared to go the extra mile
  • MRICS qualification and experience of working in a property development role is desirable

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
