Director – Head of Office

Fantastic medium sized, National consultancy are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to head up their Manchester office.

This consultancy are multi-award winners, with an array of accolades under their belt, including best Consultancy. 2018 was one of their most successful years yet and they are set to break more records this year. They have sustained successful growth over the past 5 years, increasing their team, project portfolio and service offerings across the business. They have an outstanding and well-respected reputation for their quality of service and are committed to delivering results.

They offer a range of services, including Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying & Project Management across a wide variety of sectors, namely Commercial, Residential, Education and Retail. They are committed to their growth and to developing new networks,  whilst making sure they maintain their successful and long-term relationships.

They are looking for an experienced leader to head their Manchester office, someone with a strong construction background, who has a proven record of winning and developing business and networks and who can quickly capitalise on the huge opportunities currently taking shape across the North West and beyond.

The Role

The focal point for this role is someone that can bring new work into the business and develop all existing networks. The expectation will be that you will spend the majority of your time networking and fee earning, however, you will also oversee the Directors in each of their respective disciplines, helping to support their workloads, team progression, manage internal and external relationships and ensure the benchmark for quality of work does not decrease. You will also sit across the recruitment of new staff and the training and development of the existing team.

Key Attributes

Whilst you must be Chartered and have ideally come from a lead role within a small/medium consultancy, this business is also open to looking at an experienced Senior Associate with the right attitude and proven background of working within a multi-discipline environment. You will be a natural leader with a talent and passion for winning business and have a reputable network of clients across the North West.

You will need to have a clear plan of how you will help shape and drive the Manchester office and a strategy of how to achieve targets for both your team and the business. On top of this, you will be someone who can quickly identify opportunities and be very commercially driven. You will love a challenge and have the capabilities to make a real impact on the team and business both in the short and long term.

Essential Criteria

  • Membership of RICS or equivalent professional qualification
  • UK Consultancy experience
